Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE)

Skills Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) project is a World Bank assisted -Government of India program with the objective of improving the relevance and efficiency of skills training provided through ITIs and apprenticeships.

Project period : 5 years

Project closing date : Nov 2022

STRIVE falls under the Program for Results (P4R) based category of World Bank that ensures outcome driven funding i.e. disbursement from the World Bank would be based on achievement of Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs).

Component wise details of the program are provided below:

 Name of the ITI :        Government ITI(M), Hosur Road, Dairy Circle, Bengaluru-29

Government ITI(M) Hosur Road is among the oldest ITIs established in the State. It was established in the year 1952. A total of 25 trades are implemented in this ITI including Center of Excellence- Electrical Sector with an annual intake capacity of 1835 trainees. Besides having Advanced Vocational Training Scheme and Motor Driving Training School, the institute is catering to training in third shift to socially disadvantaged people and also providing Modular Employable Skills.

Located at a stone’s throw away from the major industrial hub i.e., Electronics City and IT corridor, it is ideal to take up Automobile and Electrical sector and develop this ITI as a Model ITI.

 Project Cost: Rs.10crores
